MEIJER LAUNCHES 24/7 PHARMACY SERVICES AT ALPINE STORE TO BETTER SERVE GRAND RAPIDS CUSTOMERS
Alpine Meijer Pharmacy now providing in-store and drive-thru services around the clock
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –Meijer, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer, now offers its pharmacy services around the clock to Grand Rapids customers at its Alpine Meijer Pharmacy. This new 24/7 service began on Sunday, May 20.
“We’re pleased to announce that our Grand Rapids area Meijer customers can now get their prescriptions whenever it’s most convenient for them – no matter if that’s 2 p.m. or 2 a.m.,” said Nat Love, vice president of Meijer Drug Store. “Our customers now have the comfort and assurance that no matter when they need Meijer pharmacy services, we’re here for them and ready to help.”
While the Alpine Meijer store will be the first store to offer 24/7 pharmacy services, Meijer may consider other locations based on customer reaction and feedback. The Alpine Meijer was chosen based on the current need for a 24-hour pharmacy in the area, and close proximity to urgent care centers and local hospitals.
Meijer has a long history of keeping the customer’s needs first in mind as well as being a strong advocate for safe and healthy families. In 2006, Meijer unveiled the first of its free medication programs, providing select antibiotics at no charge to customers with a prescription. The program was expanded in 2008 to include select pre-natal vitamin prescriptions. The Michigan-based retailer enhanced the program even more in in 2010 by providing no-cost prescriptions for metformin, the most commonly prescribed drug for type 2 diabetes.
“In addition to offering free select vitamin and medication programs to help Midwest families cope with rising health care costs, the 24/7 Alpine pharmacy offers a convenience element that will bring peace of mind to our Grand Rapids customers,” said Love.
