Meijer Unveils Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday Door Busters to Kick-Start Gift-Giving Season
Aggressive door-buster deals help Meijer customers experience “Peace of Mind, Joy of Giving”
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Nov. 16, 2011) – Meijer is kick-starting the holiday season by providing customers with an early present: a digital look at the Midwest supercenter chain’s Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday door buster deals. The announcement was made today by Kevin Brown, chief marketing officer of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer.
“Preparing for the holidays can be very stressful, but by sharing our great ads early we can minimize stress for our customers and help them plan all aspects of their shopping, regardless if they are shopping for holiday dinner or gifts,” Brown said. “Meijer provides customers with a one-stop shopping experience, and we want to help our customers take advantage of all the ways we are going to help them save money.”
Links to the Meijer Black Friday and Thanksgiving Day ad previews will be sent to customers who currently receive e-mail alerts from Meijer, as well as the nearly 500,000 Meijer Facebook likes and Twitter followers.
This year, Meijer will continue its tradition of offering a variety of exciting door buster deals on three different days – Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday and Saturday – to accommodate customers’ holiday shopping preferences. Examples of a few hot door busters include:
Anyone wishing to receive access to the ad previews can visit www.connect.Meijer.com to register by signing-up for e-mail alerts or connecting via Facebook or Twitter. The Toy, Electronic & Holiday Gift Guides are already available online, highlighting the top gift items of 2011. While customers can see the ads prior to distribution, the preview does not change the effective date of the advertised products.
Of course, holiday shopping at Meijer would not be complete without Santa Bucks. This year, Meijer also plans to offer digital Santa Bucks through the company’s mPerks digital coupon program, which will allow customers the ease of digitally clipping the always-popular coupons using their text-enabled cell phones.
The Meijer mPerks program was launched in the fall of 2010 and has more than 450,000 subscribers, with more than 5,000 joining the program each week. Access to Meijer mPerks is free; customers can register at Meijer.com/mperks.
