Summary of Recall: Kellogg Company today, announced in cooperation with the FDA, it is voluntarily recalling Kellogg’s Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Product Description: The affected products are only those with a specific Better if Used Before Date: NOV21 17 and NOV22 17.
Hazard: Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The company has received no reports of illness to date but is taking this action as part of its commitment to the health and safety of the people who eat its foods.
